It only took 12 hours to get to Prague after Germanwings decided to delay my first flight and then outright cancel my second leaving me stuck in Düsseldorf with a drink voucher that didn’t cover the cost of any drink in the airport. I arrived in Prague with just enough time to go to bed. Not how I wanted to start this leg of my trip.
After a decent night of sleep, I started my day with a walk to Pražsky hrad, Prague Castle, and to Katedrála Sv. Vita, beautiful gothic church.
I met some people who were looking for the Strahov Monastery while I was looking for it as well and we ended up getting drinks at the monastery and going to a place called Peklo (Hell), an underground bar that served great blueberry beer brewed at the neighboring monastery. Then I got some absinthe ice-cream. We ended up going to an ice bar in the middle of the day, got a traditional Czech meal together and ended the night with a trip to a 5 story club. Overall a good first full day in Prague.
I really enjoyed these pictures Josh. You are bringing me to places that I know I will never see in person. Thank you.
