Scotland!… or 2 Days of Whiskey, Pizza, and Football

I’ve been lucky enough in my travels to come across some great people and spend time with them in their home countries.  Scotland was no different, except for the minor caveat that I got to visit a friend from home at her new home and finally get to meet her boyfriend.

A quick tour of Glasgow, an obscene amount of whiskey, and a Celtic FC match were the highlights to my short visit.  I also saw a big ass spider crab (not real) and a cool church and cemetery that smelled of tomato soup and chemicals.  But of course there is always time for pizza and binge-watching Netflix, which is just what I needed to prepare me for my last couple days before I head home.

So, thank you Marisa and Adam for keeping me out of trouble, taking me to my first real international football match, and letting me stay with you guys for a few days.  It’s nice to see old friends before I head off to go scuba diving in Iceland and be a loner to save some money.  🙂

  1. Now what are we supposed to do. No more traveling vicariously. You had better start saving for your next adventure. Enjoy Iceland. Thanks for all the great pictures.

  3. It was nice to see a big dog like that in the pub. Was it before or after the whiskey that you saw all those heads floating in the air?

  4. Josh Glad you enjoyed your trip–so did we…We use to enjoy one of Chuckie and Kristens friends from Scotland at the Pub here in Warwick..We would start drinking together and he would tell stories about Scotland…Matthew was a delight and one more shot and one more beer turned into many at which point my husband and I could not understand a word Matthew was saying…His brogue was getting thicker and his words would run into each other….We really enjoyed his company..last I heard he got married and has children here in RI…I am pretty sure he was Chuckies friend but I think he knew Ryan Martin Small also..your Uncle David is very funny about floating heads…My biggest concern is that you might drink too much and mistake the dog as your date…LOL ..Enjoy your trip home……
